Listening, as ritual. An ongoing programme exploring how the finest quality of sound reproduction transforms the way we experience music, spaces and one another.
It unfolds through independent initiatives and commissioned collaborations.
During Milan Design Week 2026, Asics unveiled its first large-scale installation, a sequence of three environments designed by the Los Angeles–based collective Nuova Group in collaboration with Capsule. The final space hosted a listening room centred around the Thuono TH300 turntable and loudspeakers designed by Matéo Garcia. Throughout the week, Thuono also co-curated the programme with Matéo Garcia, inviting artists and musicians to lead a series of vinyl listening sessions and share their personal approach to listening: Koodes, Katatonic Silentio and Marta Oliva.
Within the solemn industrial setting of Deoron's closing event in Milan, and in dialogue with New Fidelity's large-scale loudspeakers, Thuono curated a listening session presenting a selection of records from its archive spinning on the TH300 turntable.
Deoron conceived a space for pause within the intensity of Milan Design Week. Developed together with Archived Dreams, the listening room became the setting for a week-long programme of listening sessions, conversations, meditation, yoga, tea rituals and live performances. The playback system centred on the Thuono TH300 turntable paired with Audio Lai loudspeakers. Among the invited guests, Tcheelo shared a selection of records from his personal collection, presented through the TH300.
Within the extraordinary setting of Kenzo Takada's residence in Paris designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, Thuono features two turntables in two different rooms to complete the Matéo Garcia system with an analogue source. During the event Thuono also curated a selection of records from its archive for invited guests.
During Milan Design Week 2025, Thuono worked alongside Matéo Garcia on the design of the listening environment at Deoron, curating the analogue playback system around the TH300 turntable and a selection of records from its archive. Thuono also helped shape the musical programme throughout the week, contributing to the space’s sonic identity.
Maalderij is a private space in Landegem, Belgium, designed by architect Wim Goes and dedicated to artists' residencies, exhibitions and cultural programmes. Thuono was invited to develop a week-long residency, creating a listening environment centred around a high-fidelity analogue playback system and a programme of listening sessions with invited artists. The system, built around the TH400 turntable, was realised in collaboration with Widescreen Audio, while the programme featured Objects and Sound, Floris Vanhoof and Dolphins into the Future.
Invited by Fischio as part of Romaeuropa Festival, Thuono conceived a listening environment within the remarkable setting of the Ex Mattatoio in Rome. Thuono curated the complete playback system together with a selection of records from its archive, presented in collaboration with Rome-based selector Marco Folco. The project also included the curation of the listening setting, with a custom-made tatami carefully arranged to encourage a slower, more attentive way of experiencing music.
For the opening of Golden Goose HAUS near Venice, Thuono was invited to develop a listening environment as part of a programme of exhibitions, performances and workshops dedicated to art, music and the cultural landscape of the Venetian lagoon. Centred around a complete analogue system and a selection of records from the Thuono archive, the space invited guests to slow down and experience listening as a shared ritual, accompanied by visuals by Vega Collective.
Villa Clea is a private residence and a space dedicated to exhibitions and artists' residencies in Milan. Within this intimate domestic setting, Thuono curated Deep Listening, an event exploring deep listening as a contemplative practice. Centred around the TH400 turntable, Thuono conceived a complete analog system together with a selection of records from its archive.
Fondazione Querini Stampalia is housed within the historic Venetian building expanded by Carlo Scarpa. Within this context, Thuono was invited to engage in dialogue with the architect's garden-facing room. For Bibliothèque, an evening dedicated to performances and installations, Thuono curated a complete analogue playback system designed for vinyl reproduction, creating a space for deep listening. The musical programme alternated records from the Thuono archive with selections curated by Rome-based artist and record collector Marco Folco.
